John Lauer
Founder & President
John has been in residential construction his entire career and founded Lauer Construction more than 3 decades ago. From the beginning, John has required that the soil be stabilized, runoff controlled, and that the jobsite be kept clean and thereby instituting environmental controls long before they were mandated. Having worked in Anne Arundel County for so many years, John is well versed on the permitting processes, procedures, and requirements for developing or improving property. In addition to great service, John believes in giving back to the community and has led the effort to make contributions to many local organizations. When not in the office taking care of business, John enjoys boating with family and friends on the Chesapeake Bay.
Scott Schorr
Vice President Administration
Scott has been with the Lauer team since 1993. Coming from a construction family himself, Scott’s knowledge of the building process has contributed to our success. In addition to standard building practices, Scott also is knowledgeable in New England style post and beam construction. Over the years Scott has had several projects featured in regional home and trade publications. Having a keen eye for detail, Scott focuses on the development, evaluation, estimating, and the tracking of projects. Scott lives on Maryland’s eastern shore and enjoys many outdoor activities with his family when away from work.
Shane Schorr
Site Supervisor (Interior Work) & Project Management
Shane began working with Lauer Construction in 1998. Like his brothers Scott and Steve, Shane brings with him the family tradition of custom home-building. At Lauer, Shane oversees the initial stages of the interior work of our home projects through its completion and final move-in condition. He has a keen eye for details and creates imaginative solutions to challenging projects. Shane lives on the eastern shore of Maryland, enjoys outdoor activities and participates in several sports.
Steve Schorr
Site Supervisor (Exterior Work) & Project Management
Steve joined Lauer Construction in 2001 and works beside his brothers Scott and Shane. Steve is responsible for starting a project and turns architectural drawings into reality. He works closely with the trade groups and building suppliers from the start-up site grading through the framing stages of a project. Steve recently built his own beautiful house on the eastern shore of Maryland. He enjoys spending time with his family and frequently joins his brothers in a rousing game of softball.
